Barihab™ Use Cases
Where the Treatment & Assessment Platform Shines
Barihab™ platforms (XS, XKS, S2S) consolidate a hi-lo PT table, standing frame, and parallel bars into one system, allowing clinicians to treat more and transfer less. The result is safer care, fewer transfers, and efficient treatment across conditions, settings, and goals.

Detailed Use Cases
Sit-to-Stand Progressions on a Standing Frame
Therapists can grade assist from max to minimal assistance while patients practice sit-to-stand and early standing tolerance on a secure standing frame built into a hi-lo treatment table. Real-time digital readouts guide dosing and progression.
Bed Mobility & Core Activation on a Hi-Lo Mat Table
With the platform flat, clinicians train rolling, supine-to-sit, and scooting for safer bed mobility without excessive therapist bending, then elevate to gurney height for slide transfers. The PT table adjusts 18.5"–34" to match surfaces
Stand-Pivot Transfer Training
Stainless-steel transfer bars and standing poles enable secure stand-pivot practice and graded transfer training with less strain on the clinician’s back. Digital height references support consistent setups from session to session.
Partial Weight-Bearing & Load Monitoring
Use the integrated partial weight-bearing scale to quantify limb loading and document progress. Ideal during NWB/TTWB protocols and early rehab exercises for non-weight-bearing transitions.
Parallel Bars for Gait Initiation & Balance
Drop in the parallel bars module to transition from standing balance to first steps. Adjustable height/width and an optional safety seat support graded gait work while conserving gym space. This is true therapy gym equipment efficiency!
Stroke Rehab: Standing, Balance & Task-Specific Practice
For stroke rehab, the familiar single platform reduces fear of falling and simplifies progression from standing frame therapy to parallel bars and reaching tasks. This builds confidence and postural control.
Spinal Cord Injury (Paraplegics/Quadriplegics)
Adjustable standing poles and transfer bars help paraplegic or quadriplegic patients practice upright tolerance, pressure relief strategies, and safe transfers with objective settings preserved across sessions.
Amputee Rehabilitation (Pre- & Post-Prosthetic)
Build standing tolerance, weight-shifting, and symmetry with graded support, then progress to parallel bars for pre-gait and gait training, using physical therapy equipment that keeps transfers to a minimum. See our article on Amputee Rehab here.
Bariatric Rehab
The Barihab XKS supports up to 1000 lbs with a 5’×8’ surface, enabling safer transfers, sit-to-stand, and gait initiation for larger patients. This reduces therapist lifting and injury risk while functioning as a revolutionary bariatric assistive device.
Orthopedic Post-Op (THA/TKA)
Use parallel bars for physical therapy to start controlled step-through and weight acceptance, paired with seat/back adjustments for pain-aware positioning on the hi lo mat table.
TBI & Complex Neuro
Reducing stimuli changes and transfers improves participation. The same therapy table converts to a standing frame and parallel bars, encouraging repetition and motor relearning without moving to other devices.
Vestibular & Fall-Risk
Use rails and seat safety to challenge dynamic balance and reaching without full body-weight exposure.
Deconditioning & Long-Stay Residents
Facilities report using Barihab with up to 95% of the population, noting improved independence and daily utilization. Ideal for graded standing and simple mobility goals.
Anxiety & Fear-of-Falling Reduction
Our familiar, single-platform physical therapy equipment helps ease fear; original sit-to-stand engineering promotes safer routines with fewer transfers.
“No-Lift” Environment Support
One platform = fewer apparatus changes and reduced person-to-person contact. Fewer transfers lower injury risk and cleaning burden. This is key for SNFs and rehab hospitals.
In-Room Isolation Therapy
The Barihab S2S enables one-on-one, in-room sessions for patients who cannot leave due to isolation/quarantine. This helps maintain mobility plans without compromising safety.
Occupational Therapy
Practice dressing tasks, counter-height reaching, and fine motor tasks while the platform and rails provide graded support.
Wheelchair Skills
Replicate seat heights with digital references to coach safe pressure-relief strategies and consistent transfer techniques across environments.
Space-Saving Parallel Bars & SSG Trainer
When space is tight, the cart-stored parallel bars or wall-mounted SSG Trainer preserve floor area while delivering the same progressions.
Facility-Wide Safety & Labor Optimization
Limiting transfers lowers clinician injuries and comp claims. Many tasks can be performed by a single therapist, which improves productivity and staff wellbeing.
Pre-Gait & Step-Through for Med-Surg Patients
Use the therapy parallel bars to move from a static stance to the first steps with a safety seat that follows the patient until fatigue, reducing anxiety and building independence.
Quick-Start Programs & Standardized Outcomes
Adopt the 7-day Quick Start protocol to accelerate functional recovery (sit-to-stand, transfers, balance, gait) and validate functional outcomes with standardized scores.
