Receiver Bar Clamp Adjustment Instructions

Important Notes

Adjusting the clamping force requires disassembly and reassembly of the clamping mechanism.

Factory-applied red Loctite must be removed, the parts cleaned, and fresh Loctite reapplied during the final reassembly step (Step 8).

Step-by-Step Adjustment Process

  1. Disassemble the Clamp Mechanism

    • Carefully take apart the components of the clamp.
  2. Remove Old Loctite

    • Clean all parts thoroughly to remove any old Loctite residue.
  3. Test Reassembly Without Loctite

    • Assemble the clamp without applying Loctite to ensure proper fit and function.
  4. Insert the Transfer Bar and Close the Clamp

    • Make sure the bar is properly seated within the clamp.
  5. Check the Clamping Force

    • Apply reasonable force to the transfer bar and verify that the clamp holds securely.
  6. Adjust the Clamping Force (If Needed)

    • If the clamp feels too loose or too tight:
      • Adjust the clamp mechanism lock nut and tilt assembly.
      • Turn the clamp body ½ turn tighter or looser, depending on the required adjustment.
    • Reassemble and test again with the transfer bar.
    • Repeat this step as necessary until the clamping force is secure.
  7. Take Note of the Adjustment

    • Once the correct clamping force is achieved, write down the number of turns required to properly position the clamp body.
  8. Final Assembly with Loctite

    • Completely disassemble the unit again.
    • Apply fresh red Loctite to the necessary components.
    • Reassemble the unit following the exact number of turns noted in Step 7.
  9. Secure the Clamp Mechanism

    • Tighten the clamp body lock nut securely to the top of the clamp mechanism.

Final Check

Before putting the clamp into full use, verify that it holds securely and functions correctly under expected force conditions.
