After more than 18 years of leadership at Therapeutic Industries, Laszlo Bayer is stepping into retirement, closing a chapter that helped reshape modern rehabilitation care across the United States. His impact reaches far beyond the walls of a single company. It lives in therapy gyms, hospital units, skilled nursing facilities, and in the lives of patients and clinicians across 47 states.
Laszlo did not simply help build a company. He helped transform an idea into a movement.
From Prototype to National Impact
When Laszlo first encountered the early prototype of what would become the Barihab™ Treatment Platform, the future was uncertain. What followed was years of market research, road trips, demonstrations, conversations, and relentless belief in a better way to deliver therapy.
As he reflects:
“Little did I know 18 years ago what kind of impact Therapeutic Industries would have on the rehabilitation industry with the introduction of the Barihab™ Treatment Platform. The challenges that lay ahead, I was completely unaware of, and that was probably a good thing.
The dream was to provide a therapy tool that benefitted both the therapist and their patients and finding the visionaries and early adopters that could see the potential of the Barihab.”
Those early adopters were instrumental. Organizations such as Life Care Centers of America, Ensign, Generations Health Care, and Rancho Los Amigos helped validate the vision. Over time, that trust expanded to include Select Medical, Encompass, PAM Health, and many others.
What began as a series of demonstrations in therapy gyms grew into a platform now recognized as one of the most favored pieces of rehabilitation equipment in the country.
Today, the Barihab™ platform aligns with the company’s broader mission: to positively impact those in need of physical rehabilitation by providing safe, effective, and innovative therapy solutions
A Leader Who Believed in People
While Laszlo’s influence is visible in the industry, it is perhaps even more deeply felt within the company itself.
Tammy Di Grandi, Director of Sales & Logistics, reflects on more than a decade of partnership:
“It has been a privilege to collaborate with Laszlo Bayer for 11 remarkable years, fostering a deep and lasting professional bond that has been a true highlight of my career. His unwavering optimism has consistently inspired me, and his visionary approach has played a pivotal role in driving the company’s outstanding growth.
Laszlo leaves behind a legacy of meaningful connections and a network that will deeply miss his presence. Having worked tirelessly to achieve this milestone, he now embarks on a new chapter filled with potential and promise. I wish him boundless joy and happiness. I can’t wait to hear how his golf game improves.”
That optimism was very consistent.
Pauline, who has known Laszlo for over three decades, shares:
“Laszlo has been in our lives for the better part of 35 years. We have seen him go through good times, bad times and everything in between, and the most consistent thing about him has been his attitude. Always smiling, always optimistic, always striving to make things run smoothly and better. I’m sure he’ll approach retirement with the same vigor he’s shown for the last 35 years.”
That steady outlook shaped the culture of Therapeutic Industries. A culture built on innovation, service, craftsmanship, and compassion .
A Mentor and a Model
Leadership is not only measured by growth metrics or national reach. It is measured by what is left behind in others.
Cayley shares:
“Working with Laszlo has been a great experience for me, and I feel he has very much prepared me for the role I have at Therapeutic Industries. When you have a mentor who is passionate and open to sharing so much knowledge, while also bringing good character to the office, it makes you want to learn more and strive to do better.
It is bittersweet that the office will be empty, but I do know that if anything ever comes up, he is the type of guy who would pick up the phone and help me out.”
That willingness to invest in others ensured that his influence would extend well beyond his title.
Chris, who has worked alongside Laszlo for over 30 years, describes his working relationship with Laszlo:
“Working with Laszlo for the last 30 to 35 years has made me consider him part of the family. Just like family you have ups and downs, but you always come out stronger on the other side. So even though he’s retiring from Therapeutic Industries, he’s not retiring from my life.”
When colleagues become family, you know leadership has been personal.
An Industry Changed

Laszlo Bayer, Founder
Therapeutic Industries was founded on the belief that innovation, combined with extraordinary service, could produce breakthrough outcomes in rehabilitation. Over the years, that belief became reality through the shared commitment of a passionate team, with Laszlo playing an important role in helping guide the vision forward.
Across the country, therapists have been empowered with safer tools. Patients have gained confidence, independence, and measurable progress. Facilities have improved operational safety and reduced transfer-related risks. What began as a bold idea now supports rehabilitation teams nationwide.
As Laszlo concludes this chapter, he reflects with gratitude:
“As I end this journey, I’d like to thank everyone that supported and believed in us and our Barihab™ products. It’s been an honor to be a part of something that has impacted so many people in a positive way. It is now time for me to move on to the next chapter of what lies ahead. I’m looking forward to continuing making a difference in peoples lives.
GOD Bless You All.”
A Legacy That Continues
The mission of Therapeutic Industries remains clear: to positively impact those recovering from injury by providing the safest and most effective rehabilitation equipment available. The foundation Laszlo helped establish ensures that innovation, quality, and compassion will continue to guide the company forward.
